What we do

ALIN supports communities in Eastern Africa to achieve food security and safe environment through provision of practical and usable information using ICTs.

By providing usable information, knowledge and skills on agriculture and climate change adaptation to communities through modern technologies, ALIN aims to contribute towards their resilience, increase their productivity, and alleviate vulnerability, poverty, inequality and hunger.

1 Climate Resilience

Strategies: Promote solutions that enhance the long-term resilience of communities and enable them to thrive in the face of devastating climate shocks.
ALIN works with the national government. county government, multilateral institutions, civil society, communities and other partners to promote climate change adaptation practices and clean energy solutions that enhance the long-term resilience of communities and enable them to thrive in the face of devastating climate shock and disasters, water insecurity and drought impact and access to affordable and clean energy.

2 Agricultural productivity

Strategies: Support communities to achieve food security through new production technologies and access markets for their produce
ALINs goal is to support agricultural production by small scale farmers to enable them generate and share knowledge that promotes resilient agricultural systems, enhance food security through adoption of smart agricultural practices, improving access to markets, finance and harness new technologies.

3Digital transformation

Strategies: Support communities to achieve food security through new production technologies and access markets for their produce
ALIN will focus on driving rural digital transformation and innovation through increasing access and use of digital tools, skills and solutions and promote rural digital innovation to support the livelihoods of the communities, enhancing civic participation and engagement and increasing opportunities, especially for women, youth, persons with disability, indigenous communities and other marginalized groups while building economies that are more inclusive and equitable.
