ALIN project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) Small Grant carried out by Deutsche Gessellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and Federal Foreign Office. This project is helping farmers in Kajiado County, Kenya, to adapt to climate change and build a more sustainable future. By promoting the adoption of climate-smart, solar-powered irrigation systems, the project is aiding farmers to reduce their water use, increase their crop yields, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The project also advocates for the wider adoption of solar water pumps and increased budgetary allocation from the Kajiado County government for climate-smart agriculture. Through this actions ALIN will be contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger). Project Objective
  • To Increase agricultural productivity and build resilience to climate change risks for 360households through adoption of solar powered irrigation system in Kajiado County
